CHENNAI: After remaining off the radar for a few weeks, noted filmmaker Kamal Haasan returned to taunt the ruling AIADMK, this time targeting the Chief Minister Edappadi K Palaniswami by seeking his resignation for the ‘state of affairs’ in Tamil Nadu. This time, he also referred to the opposition major DMK, exhorting the public to look for alternatives if the existing parties were not performing their roles.
On Tuesday, hours after Chief Minister took pride in unfurling the Tricolour from the ramparts of Fort St George for the first time, Kamal returned to twitter, this time to take him on directly.

“If one State’s CM should resign for a mishap and corruption under his govt. How come no party calls for resignation in TN. Enough crimes done (sic),” tweeted Kamal, creating ripples in political circles.
He did not spare the principal opposition party, DMK, either. DMK and AIADMK, and other parties in the State, were tools for a better future for Tamil Nadu, Kamal said in the next tweet, and sought support from the public to seek new tools if the ones existing were not useful anymore.

“My aim is a better Tamil Nadu. Who dares to strengthen my voice? DMK AIADMK & parties R tools to help. If those tools R blunt find others (sic),” read the second tweet.“We remain enslaved until and unless we break free from corruption. Come! Those having guts to swear for a new independence struggle. We shall overcome!” Kamal added in the next tweet, all of which were shared by hundreds immediately.
