Madukkarai residents stage picketing against opening of new TASMAC outlet

A group of residents in Madukkarai on the outskirts today staged picketing on the road protesting opening of a TASMAC liquor outlet in the area.

After senior police officials assured them to take up the matter with the authorities, the protesters dispersed.

COIMBATORE:  A group of residents in Madukkarai on the outskirts today staged picketing on the road protesting opening of a TASMAC liquor outlet in the area.

Condemning the action of the administration allowing to open the new outlet, nearly 100  residents, majorioty of them being women, squatted on the middle of the road and raised slogans against the Government, police said.

After senior police officials assured them to take up the matter with the authorities, the protesters dispersed.
