Respite to Mrs super star as school opens again

THE Ashram/school run by Latha, wife of actor Rajinikanth and his daughter Aishwarya, in the name of Raghavendra Educational Society at Guindy, was opened again and it started functioning from 1.30 pm

CHENNAI: THE Ashram/school run by Latha, wife of actor Rajinikanth and his daughter Aishwarya, in the name of Raghavendra Educational Society at Guindy, was opened again and it started functioning from 1.30 pm on Tuesday, the Madras High Court was told in the evening.

When a civil suit filed by Aishwarya, in her capacity as the secretary of the society, came up in the morning, Justice CV Karthikeyan appointed an Advocate-Commissioner (AC) to verify her claim that the school was locked. He also directed the property owner to remove the lock in the interest of the students. The matter was adjourned till 4.30 pm to enable the AC to file his report.

Even before the AC filed his report, counsel for the property owners (defendants) told the judge that the school has been reopened pursuant to orders passed by this court. The lock and key was given to the security in the presence of the principal. The school started functioning from 1.30 pm.

When defendants told the judge that there are rental dues, for recovery of which they had filed a suit, the judge clubbed that suit with Aishwarya’s present one, so that the issues could be adjudicated in their entirety. The matter has been posted for August 24, when the AC is expected to file his report.

Alleging that all of a sudden the property owners locked the entrance of the school last week and students were forced to accommodate in some other place, Aishwarya had filed the suit. She prayed for a direction to the property owners  to open the premises and to pay `five  crore as damages and another `one crore for locking the school premises illegally.
