PUDUCHERRY: While expecting Governor Ch Vidyasagar Rao to invite the disgruntled MLAs for talks in a couple of days, Thanga Tamizhselvan, a supporter of the ousted AIADMK deputy general secretary T T V Dhinakaran said if Governor fails to do so, they would knock the doors of President Ram Nath Kovind instead.

Talking to media persons at Sunway Manor Hotel where two more MLAs - V T Kalaiselvam and E Rathinasabapathy - joined them on Saturday, Thanga Tamilselvan said that chief minister Edappadi K Palaniswami would not be able to strengthen the party and lead the government. Unless he is replaced, they would approach the President. He accused Palaniswami of trying to remove general secretary V K Sasikala who made him the chief minister, and Dhinakaran from the party.

He emphasised that Sasikala and Dhinakaran alone could lead the party. To a question, he said they had come to Puducherry to stay united as anything could happen since the party is in power in Tamil Nadu. “Our only demand is that EPS be axed, as he had made O Panneerselvam the deputy chief minister, who voted against the government,” he said, adding that he would not object if Dhanapal, the Speaker, was made the chief minister. The 20 MLAs staying in Sunway Manor, will be moving again to “Windflower Resort and Spa” on Sunday afternoon after the rooms fall vacant on the departure of tourists. The MLAs living in cramped conditions, remained confined to their rooms, except at times coming to the lobby for a while.
