Two youths working in IT company at Bengaluru drown in sea

While the body of one Harshit Kumar has been recovered, the other one Praful Phanimadhar Yellapeddi is still missing.

PUDUCHERRY: In an unfortunate incident, two youths working in a IT company in Bengaluru who were on a tour of Puducherry were drowned in the Bay of Bengal off Chinnaveerampattinam coast today. While the body of one Harshit Kumar (26) has been recovered, the other one Praful Phanimadhar Yellapeddi (25) is still missing.

According to police,11 youths employed in IT company came to Puducherry by train this morning and they went to Chinnaveerampatinam beach. Five of them engaged in beach volleyball when a big wave from the rough sea dragged two of them. They were further dragged away by swift undercurrent. One was rescued with the help of nearby fishermen and was taken to the Indira Gandhi government General Hospital and Post Graduate Institute (IGGGH&PGI) where doctors declared him brought dead. Search is on for Praful.

Harshit hails from Garia , Kolkata, while Praful is from defense colony, Secunderabad.
