CHENNAI: O Pannerselvam, who lost his bid to remain in the seat of chief minister of Tamil Nadu, looked visibly disappointed as he addressed a press conference after it was announced that Governor Vidyasagar Rao had invited his rival V K Sasikala’s proxy Edappadi Palaniswamy to be the next chief minister.
Panneerselvam, however, refused to concede defeat. He said: “This dharma yutham will continue till the people’s rule is established. We can’t be ruled by this (Mannargudi) family.”
He thanked the public, especially women cadre of the AIADMK who backed him in the campaign.
