CHENNAI: DMK leader M.K. Stalin on Monday dismissed any politics in Prime Minister Narendra Modi's meeting with his father and DMK President M. Karunanidhi.

Stalin told reporters that no politics was discussed between them nor was there any political intention behind Modi's courtesy call on his father.

He said there was nothing in the meeting for the media to speculate about.

Stalin also condemned the arrest and "ill treatment" of cartoonist G. Bala for his cartoon attacking Chief Minister K. Palaniswamy and officials after the suicide by a family over loan troubles. The cartoonist has since been freed on bail.
