Film producer-director B Ashok Kumar allegedly committed suicide at his residence in Chennai's Alwarthirunagar Tuesday.
In a suicide note, Ashok Kumar talks of a financier in Madurai with whom he was associated for more than 7 years. He claimed that the long time association with the lender was a mistake.
The body was taken to the Government Royapettah Hospital for postmortem. A case under IPC Section 306 has been registered against the financier for provoking suicide.
Ashok Kumar is a relative of actor-director Sasikumar, and co-producer of Eesan, Poraali and the yet-to-be-released Kodi Veeran.
