Tamil Nadu seeks public view on coastal zone management plan

As per the provisions of Coastal Regulation Zone Notification, 2011, State Department of Environment on Monday has published the draft Coastal Zone Management Plans.

CHENNAI: As per the provisions of Coastal Regulation Zone (CRZ) Notification, 2011, State Department of Environment on Monday has published the draft Coastal Zone Management Plans (CZMP), prepared by National Centre for Sustainable Coastal Management (NCSCM), for all the 13 coastal districts of Tamil Nadu.

The CZM maps have been uploaded on (http://www.environment.tn.nic.in) and (http://tnenvis.nic.in) inviting suggestions/objections, if any, from all the Departments/local communities/NGOs, etc. All stakeholders are requested to submit the suggestions/objections, in writing in English (or) Tamil within 45 days, said a press release. The draft plan consists of 115 Sheets indicating CRZ I (Ecological Sensitive Area).
