Director Bharathiraja pulled up for not complying with advance bail conditions in Tamil Nadu

The Madras High Court on Wednesday pulled up film director Bharathiraja for not complying with the anticipatory bail conditions.

CHENNAI: The Madras High Court on Wednesday pulled up film director Bharathiraja for not complying with the anticipatory bail conditions. “There are several news reports saying that Bharathiraja was participating in various programmes.

Why can’t he approach the lower court and seek advance bail, as stipulated by the court earlier,” Justice S Rajamanickam asked. The judge, however, issued notice to the complainant Narayanan and posted the matter for further hearing on July 17. Originally, Narayanan lodged a complaint with Vadapalani police alleging that Bharathiraja at a meeting here on January 18 had degraded Lord Vinayaka. Bharathiraja moved the High Court for advance bail.
