CHENNAI: Anna University general counselling will start on July 25. Tamil Nadu Engineering Admissions (TNEA) 2018, will happen at all the 42 TNEA Facilitation Centres (TFC) situated in districts across the State,  a university release said on Saturday.“Five rounds of counselling will be held in all TFCs and supplementary counselling will be held for two more days at Anna University Chennai campus,” Higher Education Minister KP Anbalagan, told reporters on Saturday.

The university announced the dates hours after the Supreme Court allowed them to finish counselling by August 31. It had moved the apex court to postpone the deadline of June 30 set by the All India Council for Technical Education (AICTE).“The medical counselling was delayed this time and we couldn’t conduct the counselling until it was over. However, we have to proceed anyway now even if medical counselling is not over,” said a senior official from the university.

The counselling will be conducted between July 25 and August 19, the release said. However, payment portal was opened on Saturday itself. Engineering aspirants do not have to travel from across the State to Anna University for counselling anymore as TNEA is fully online from this year.
