CHENNAI: Tamil Maanila Congress leader GK Vasan on Tuesday demanded that the Tamil Nadu government should reduce the proposed property tax hike by 50 per cent. In a statement, he said that the hike of 50 to 100 per cent in property tax by the government was not acceptable. Ordinary people, staying in rented houses will be the most affected because of the move. In order to protect them, the State government should reduce by at least 50 per cent the proposed property tax hike, he said.
