Reinstated Assam IPS officer thanks MDMK chief Vaiko

Rajamarthandan, a native of Tamil Nadu, is an Assam cadre IPS officer. A few months ago, he was suspended by Assam government for allegedly revealing certain information.

CHENNAI:Assam cadre IPS Officer N Rajamarthandan who was reinstated recently after a brief period of suspension, on Sunday thanked MDMK chief Vaiko at Kalingapatti in Virudhunagar district for his support.

Rajamarthandan, a native of Tamil Nadu, is an Assam cadre IPS officer. A few months ago, he was suspended by Assam government for allegedly revealing certain information, classified as confidential, to an RTI applicant.

After the IPS officers association and various others reacted against the government’s decision his suspension was revoked.

Soon after the officer was suspended, Vaiko had written to Home Minister Rajnath Singh and Assam government seeking to drop the charges against the officer.Rajamarthandan and his family members met Vaiko and presented him a memento as a token of thanksgiving.
