Wage Hike for Home Guards from April

HYDERABAD: The honorarium for Home Guards will be increased from the present `9,000 to `12,000 per month from April next.  They will also get medical insurance and two uniforms per year. The parade allowance being paid to them twice every month will also be increased from `28 to `100. Around 16,000 Home Guards in Telangana state will benefit with these decisions.

Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao announced these benefits to them on the eve of Home Guards Day on Saturday.

As the Budget presentation was over for the current year, the revised benefits would be made applicable from April 2015, the chief minister said.

Meanwhile, the chief minister also directed DGP Anurag Sharma to examine the request to bring Special Protection Force (SPF) staff under his control. The chief minister also directed the DGP to ensure all facilities  for SPF personnel, which was currently in force for other police personnel.
