SANGAREDDY: A 17-year-old girl was allegedly gang-raped by four youngsters, who also attempted to outrage the modesty of her mother when the latter went to her rescue, at Ramakkapet village in Dubbak mandal, Medak district on Friday night.

Dubbak CI M Ramakrishna Reddy said the Intermediate student was forcibly taken away by  one Karunakar and Naresh when she was returning home after meeting her friends around 10 p.m. The victim was allegedly raped by the duo as well as their two other friends.

Reddy said when the girl’s mother went searching for her, she came across Karunakar and Naresh. The duo took her to the village outskirts under the pretext of taking her to her daughter. Suspecting their ill-intentions, the woman, somehow, managed to escape from their clutches. Her daughter was found in an unconscious state later in the night. Her parents brought her home and lodged a police complaint Saturday. The police arrested Karunakar and Naresh. Cases under  Section 376 (G) and the Nirbhaya Act were slapped against them.

The police shifted the woman and her daughter to the government hospital in Siddipet for medical examination. MLA Solipeta Rama Linga Reddy handed over `25,000 to the victims.
