T-Government Readies for Godavari Pushkarams

HYDERABAD: With less than an year to go for the maiden Godavari Pushakaralu in Telangana, the state government has initiated efforts to carry out hassle-free 12-day long event. The once-in-12-years Pushkaralu will be held between July 14-25  next year. Chief Secretary Rajiv Sharma held discussions with officials of various departments here on Wednesday, and instructed them to draw estimates required for the arrangements, department-wise.

He apprised them that the government was determined to conduct the event in a big way like the prestigious Kumbh Mela. To ensure that there are no glitches pertaining to the arrangements for the event, he said the government would hold review meetings, every 15 days.  For this mega event, it was decided to establish eight bathing ghats, and invite Sringeri Sharadha Peetham pontiff Bharathi Teertha Swamy.
