Former CM T Anjaiah Remembered

HYDERABAD: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao on Saturday said that a life-size statue of former Chiief Minister late T Anjaiah will be installed at Musheerabad, which was represented by the veteran leader.

Chandrasekhar Rao, who garlanded the statue of Anjaiah in Lumbini Park on the occasion of the veteran leader’s death anniversary, said that the former CM had served the people under various capacities.

“Anjaiah was a person who rose from being a common worker to the position of a CM,” Chandrasekhar Rao said and added that Anjaiah had maintained direct relations with the people throughout his life.

He said Anjaiah played a crucial role in 1969 separate Telangana agitation and was even jailed for several months.

Chandrasekhar Rao said the Telangana government will initiate several programmes in the name of Anjaiah and also install a life-size statue of the leader to celebrate his birth anniversary and observe death anniversary.

Also, a renowned education institution and a park in Hyderabad city will be named after Anjaiah, he said.
