Additional Labour Commissioner Held for Rs 600-cr Favour to AP

HYDERABAD: The Chikkadapally police on Thursday registered a criminal case against Additional Commissioner, Labour, for allegedly diverting `600 crore to the Andhra Pradesh government in violation of the AP Reorganisation Act 2014.

Labour Commissioner Dr A Ashok reportedly briefed Telangana Home Minister Narasimha Reddy and later, lodged a complaint with the Chikkadapally police alleging that Additional Commissioner Murali Sagar had transferred `600 crore to AP illegally.

Acting on the directions of DCP (Central Zone) VB Kamalasan Reddy, the police slapped a case against Murali Sagar for criminal breach of trust and detained him when he was coming out from the Secretariat. Murali Sagar, who was shifted to the Chikkadapally police station, was questioned for a couple of hours. Later, notices were served on him to appear before the police on Friday. Sources told Express Murali Sagar and a few others did indeed divert `600 crore to AP’s account in the Andhra Bank’s Vijayawada branch. However, Murali Sagar claimed he did so as per the Act.
