HYDERABAD:The transfer of government teachers has begun in the state with education minister Kadiyam Srihari releasing the schedule for the same on Tuesday. The transfer process, fully web-based, will be completed by July 16.
Teachers, who worked for two years or more in a particular school will now be eligible for transfer. However, those teachers who have completed eight years in a particular school and headmasters who have completed five years service in a school will be transferred compulsorily. But, those teachers or headmasters retiring from service in the next two years would be exempted from tranfer.
Transfer schedule will be applicable to headmasters, Grade-2 (Gazetted) and teachers including school assistants, SGTs and their equivalent categories working in government, ZPP and MPP schools.
All transfers will be made by way of counselling through Transfer Committees constituted for each district or zone.
The male headmaster Grade-II (Gazetted)/Teacher aged below 50 years as on July 1 this year and working in Girls High School will be transferred.
The headmaster Grade-II (Gazetted) and the subject teacher concerned of the school in which the pass percentage in the SSC Public Exam (March) is less than 25 percent will be transferred to the schools located in Category-III/IV habitations, which do not have connectivity through an all-weather road as per the norms of the panchayat raj (engineering) department.
If no women HMs/teachers are available in girls high schools, then male HMs/teachers who are above 50 years of age may be considered for posting to such schools.
Teachers who were transferred during 2013 counselling and could not be relieved for want of substitute shall be relieved forthwith if posts exist after rationalisation.
Speaking to reporters later, Srihari said that there are around 1.2 lakh teachers in Telangana. Asked about the next DSC, Srihari said that once the transfers and rationalisation of teachers are completed, they would know about the position of vacancies.
On some private schools not following government textbooks, Srihari said the officials concerned would take action against such schools.
He said that if any private school was found collecting excess fee, the respective DEO would take action after receiving complaint from the parents.
On the leftover candidates from 1998 to 2012 DSCs, the minister said chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has decided to provide them jobs, after taking legal opinion.
