KARIMNAGAR:There is a stigma that a visit to Raja Rajeshwara Swamy temple in Vemulawada town would jinx the career of any politician. Many leaders, out of fear, have made it a point not to seek Darshan at the Shiva shrine. Despite this popular belief, Chief Minister KCR is planning to visit the temple on June 18.

If things go as planned, the CM will visit the temple and review the Rs 250 crore development project proposed by the temple authorities.
Though Rao, after the formation of the new state, visited various temples in Telangana. Yet, he did not visit Raja Rajeshwara temple till now. In fact, he planned to visit the temple thrice, the visits were cancelled due to various reasons.
Former Karimnagar MP Ponnam Prabhakar had protested about the aversion politicians’ had in visiting the temple, which he believes is contributing to the slow growth of the temple and town.Meanwhile, Rao’s tour has been finalised, days after Chinna Jeeyar Swamy’s visit to the temple.
