Khammam's First Swine Flu Case

KHAMMAM:Khammam registered its first swine flu case here on Thursday. District headquarters hospital superintendent T Laxman Rao confirmed that a five-year-old boy was diagnosed with swine flu at the hospital.

He said the doctors have isolated the boy in a special ward and have started treatment. It is learnt that the boy is related to one of the doctors who is practising in the town. Laxman Rao said the boy was admitted at the hospital with fever, cold and cough, two days ago. The boy’s and another person’s blood samples were sent to a lab at Narayanaguda in Hyderabad for testing. In the reports that reached the hospital on Thursday, it was confirmed that the boy was infected with H1N1 virus.
