HYDERABAD: Till the other day, nominated MLA Elvis Stephenson was just one of the TRS legislators and even many of his own party legislators may not have interacted with him.
But, Sunday’s cash-for-vote scam has turned Stephenson into a hero overnight. Stephenson, who came to the Assembly to cast his vote, was given a hero’s welcome by the TRS MLAs and leaders.
He was accompanied to the polling hall by several ministers and MLAs. Interestingly, TDP MLA A Revanth Reddy was also given a warm welcome as soon as he arrived. TDP and BJP MLAs greeted him and took him to the polling centre where he cast his vote.
Revanth Reddy, meanwhile, tried to stay inside the Assembly premises but after the ACB sleuths and election returning officer objected, he agreed to leave the premises.
