Maoist Posters in Siddipet Create Flutter

SANGAREDDY:Yet again, posters purportedly put up by Maoists surfaced in the State creating a flutter among police officials.

This time, the posters surfaced in Siddipet, the constituency represented by Irrigation Minister T Harish Rao, in Medak district. The posters of the ‘People’s War’ were in the name of Jagan, CPI (ML) Telangana Rashtra official spokesperson.

Incidentally, Siddipet was once the centre of Naxalite activities in the district. The posters surfaced at Siddipet RDO office and had a list of 10 demands. The demands include a warning to the people who cooperate in sale of agricultural land for setting up of industries in Peddamasanpally, Kammampally, Marpadga and Sirisinagandla villages in Thoguta mandal.

Through the posters, the Maoists also wanted the removal of ‘police informer’ system which was established by the police in Telangana, three acre land for backward communities on a par with SCs and STs, supply of silt to farmers free of cost from the tanks which are being desilted as part of Mission Kakatiya, pensions for beedi workers without relating it to EPF among others.
