HYDERABAD: Endowments Minister A Indra Karan Reddy on Friday directed the officials concerned to speed up Godavari Pushkaram related works and complete them before June 15.
At a review meeting here, the minister said that he would tour all the five districts, where Godavari Pushkarams would be conducted, from May 15. He said during his district visits, he would conduct a detailed review of that particular district with officials. Government advisor KV Ramanachary would invite pontiffs of all important Peethams for the Pushkarams, the minister said.
The state government will also request the Centre to release more funds for Pushkarams. The state government has so far sanctioned 469 works for Godavari Pushkarams. The estimated cost of the works is about `405.13 crore. Tenders have been invited for 363 works and the works are in various stages of completion, the officials told the minister.
