Swachh Hyderabad: KCR Clears Garbage at Parsigutta

HYDERABAD:Chief minister K Chandrasekar Rao on Saturday kicked off ‘Swachh Hyderabad’ campaign taken up by his government by clearing the garbage at Parsigutta.

Admitting that civic amenities in Greater Hyderabad were inadequate and not up to the mark, KCR said civic conditions could be improved only if locals come forward and extend cooperation to the state government.

The chief minister, who has been allotted Parsigutta unit as patron under Swachh Telangana-Swachh Hyderabad campaign, inspected lanes and bylanes of Parsigutta with excise minister T Padma Rao.

He was shocked to see the pathetic condition prevailing in the basthis.

Interacting with the locals, the chief minister said development of cities was possible due to the cooperation and support of the people. He said wherever obstacles came in the way for development process they were addressed by elected representative and authorities by taking local people into confidence.

International cities like Rio de Janeiro, Geneva and others, which were in bad condition, are now making wonders by taking up development activities with cooperation by local people.

The same could be replicated in Greater Hyderabad too if locals come forward and extend cooperation to the state government in implementing the developmental works, he said.

When he told that because of illegal  houses constructed on the nala course, storm and sewage water is entering into the houses causing inconvenience to the people.

“To overcome this problem you should cooperate and take a decision to avoid such issues in the interest of future generations. The government is ready to rehabilitate the affected people whereever  it is possible by constructing pucca houses,’’ he said.

The chief minsiter said that state government would take up developmental works worth Rs 150 crore to Rs 200 crore in Parsigutta alone by improving roads, drainage, water, vegetable markets and other issues.

In the next four days the chief minister  would be visiting basthis in Srinavasa Nagar, Ashok Nagar, Amber Nagar, New Ashok Nagar, Madhuranagar, Alladi Raj Kumar Nagar and others.

He requested the basthi residents to form a 30-member group who can guide in implementing developmental works without any hassles.
