SSC Student Hangs Self

HYDERABAD: A friendly bet over securing good marks in SSC exams between two friends allegedly drove a 15-year-girl to commit suicide after she secured less marks than her friend. Even though the incident took place on Sunday under Meerpet police limits of Cyberabad, it came to light on Monday.

However, no formal complaint was lodged with the police. Parents took the victim to government hospital located in their native place at Suryapet in Nalgonda district where doctors declared her brought dead.

According to police, Triveni who was a student of ZP high school in Lingeswar Reddy colony, allegedly placed a bet with her friend in securing good score in SSC exams whose results were released on Sunday. Triveni who secured 7.3 grade, was shocked to know that her friend secured 9.5 grade.

Depressed over securing low marks, Triveni took the extreme step by hanging herself to the ceiling at her residence.
