TDP Complains to SEC about Anomalies in Voters List

HYDERABAD:Telangana TDP leaders on Thursday complained to the State Election Commission about the anomalies in the voter list of the MLC election which are scheduled to held on June 1.

On the last day of nominations, during which seven nominations were filed, the TTDP leaders A Revanth Reddy and others took up the commissions and ommissions in the voter list before the SEC.

Speaking to reporters later, Revanth Reddy said that in the voter list, there is no mention of the party against the name of MLAs. This can give scope to crossvoting, he said and asked the SEC to look into the issue.

Revanth Reddy also took exception to the inclusion of the name of Chennamaneni Ramesh, against whom a case is pending challenging his nationality, in the voters list. ‘’As per Court order, Chennamaneni Ramesh cannot vote in any election and we took up this issue before the SEC,’’ Revanth Reddy said.

The third issue is about including the nominated member in the list of voters. ‘’A co-option member in a zilla parishad is not entitled to vote. Similar is the case with a nominated member in state Assembly,’’ Revanth Reddy contended and said the party would approach the Court, if the SEC does not take any action into the issues raised by them.
