Heat Wave Claims 10 Lives in Medak Dist on a Single Day

SANGAREDDY: Normal life was affected by the sweeping heat wave in Medak district and 10 deaths were reported on Saturday alone.

People are falling prey to the heat wave as they have to make ends meet and cannot make do without work. By the data provided by the officials, the dead are identified as Kavitha, an agricultural labourer from Siddapur thanda in Kohir mandal, Prabhakar, an auto-driver from Ramchandrapuram, Kannappa (70) of Fathepur village in Kalher mandal,  Mallaiah(60) at Venkatraopet village of Thoguta mandal, Laxmi (70) of Polampally village in Chegunta mandal, Veeresham (19) of Korpol village of

Pulkal mandal, Laxmaiah (65) from Choutkoor village in Pulkal mandal, Ramakrishna Reddy (66) from Sheripally in Tekmal and Mallaiah (70) from Kucharam village in Tupran and Tagili Sailu (40).

Khammam burns at 48 degree celsius

Khammam: The mercury touched a maximum of 48 degree Celsius in the district on Saturday. All major junctions in Khammam town like Wyra road, bus stand area, railway station road, by-pass road and other important roads wore a deserted look from morning to evening. It is said that the district has witnessed such temperature after 68 years.
