ADILABAD:BJP National General Secretary P Muralidhar Rao alleged that Congress vice-president Rahul Gandhi is politicising farmers suicides.

He said that the UPA that ruled the nation for a decade was indeed responsible for the suicides and also the prevalent agrarian crisis in the country.

Speaking at a party workers meeting here on Saturday, on the occasion of one-year completion of Prime Minister Narendra Modi-led NDA government, Muralidhar Rao alleged nearly two lakh farmers have committed suicide during UPA’s ten-year rule, and a majority of them are from Telangana State and Vidharabha region. The BJP leader said that Narendra Modi’s government is committed towards the uplift of the downtrodden and hence the Mudra Bank was launched for their benefit.

Referring to TRS rule in the state, he alleged that the TRS leaders were resorting to cheap politics instead of working for welfare of the people. “They are trying to lure and threaten the elected representatives from other parties to join theirs,” he added.

Former Minister Amar Singh Tilawath, district incharge Murlidhar Goud, Mahila Morcha state vice president Sushini Reddy, Mahila Morcha District president Anitha Jaiswal and others were present.
