HYDERABAD: A job aspirant has been debarred by the Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) after being caught with a mobile phone at a recruitment test for the post of manager of the Hyderabad Metropolitan Water Supply and Sewerage Board (HMWSSB) held here on Sunday.

The incident took place at the examination centre at Delhi Public School in Nacharam. TSPSC officials seized the mobile phone and the answer-sheet of the candidate and sent him out of the centre.

TSPSC secretary Parvathi Subramaniyan said in a press release that the matter was being probed and the commission would take appropriate action after receiving the report.

The TSPSC dismissed the rumours of leakage of question paper at the same test centre. “TSPSC strongly condemn such rumours and advise candidates not to believe any such unfounded rumours,” the secretary said.

Apart from this incident, the test was held peacefully at all the centres which reported an average attendance of 61 pc. Of the 86,519 candidates, 52,892 appeared for the written examination which was held at 58 centres in Hyderabad and Ranga Reddy districts.
