RAMANNAPETA (Telangana): In a ghastly road mishap, at least 15 people including five women died after the Road Transport Corporation (RTC) bus in which they were travelling, collided with an oncoming lorry, in Nalgonda district of Telangana today. The toll, sources said, is likely to go up.
This evening, the RTC bus from Bhongir was on its way to Narketpally when the mishap occurred near Ramannapet. The bus was said to be in top speed when it collided with lorry, while negotiating a blind curve.
Most of the passengers died instantly. In fact, when the authorities retrieved the bodies from the ill-fated bus, most of the bodies were beyond recognition while body parts was strewn around the bus.
Telangana State Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has rushed three of his ministers to the spot to note the situation. The authorities are in the process of identifying the victims.
