Government Examining Issue of Creating New Districts: Telengana Deputy CM

The state government is examining the issue of creating new districts in the state, deputy chief minister M Mahmood Ali has said.

HYDERABAD: The state government is examining the issue of creating new districts in the state, deputy chief minister M Mahmood Ali has said. Replying to a question in the Assembly here on Wednesday, he said a committee headed by chief secretary is looking into the re-organisation of the existing 10 districts in the state.

The government would take an appropriate decision after receiving the committee’s report and holding consultations with all the political parties concerned, he added.

Speaking on the issue, TRS members Yadagiri Reddy and others said there is a need to create new districts as the existing districts are too big to run the administration. Formation of new districts is needed for easy administration, they said.

MIM MLA Ahmed Pasha Quadri said creation of new districts should not lead to confusion and unnecessary problems and wanted the state government to take views of the political parties and others before  creating the new districts.

Shelters for Workers

Home minister Nayini Narasimha Reddy said that the state government is proposing to construct shelters for workers at different places. Replying to a question, Narasimha Reddy said adda coolies are facing inconvenience due to lack of shelters and government would construct shelters for them. He said state government is implementing 11 welfare schemes for them.
