SCCL Produces Record Coal of 27.20 MT

HYDERABAD: The Singareni Collieries Company Limited (SCCL) produced record quantity of coal in the first half of this financial year. So far, the company has produced  27.20 million tonnes of coal against its target of 25.9 million tonnes.

This is 8 percent more than the target production and there is 27.46 percent growth in production when compared to that of same period in previous financial year. Last year, the company has produced only 21.34 million tonnes in the same time.  The SCCL also registered 14.55 percent growth in the quantity of coal it dispatched to its customers. So far the company has dispatched 28.34 million tonnes of coal in this financial year. During the same period in last year, it supplied only 24.74 million tonnes of coal, according to a press release. 

With this, the company has supplied enough coal to meet requirement of all of its customer companies including power utilities, captive power plants, cement and other industries.

N Sridhar, chairman and managing director of SCCL, appreciated the employees for their contribution towards achieving the target of productivity and dispatches.
