Two companies sign MoU with state govt; large Chinese delegation meets KCR

HYDERABAD:The state government is all set to use Chinese expertise in the construction of its flagship programme of double bedroom flats for the poor.

China-based Sany group signed a memorandum of understanding with the state government here on Friday on setting up a pre-fabricated concrete manufacturing factory in the state.

“The factory will be helpful in the construction of two-bedroom flats and  proposed sky scrappers as well,” official sources said.

The MoU was signed by Haijen Deng, secretary of Sany International Housing, and M Dhana Kishore, secretary in the housing department of Telangana government. Another MoU on implementing dry port solutions was signed by in-charge secretary (industries) Jayesh Ranjan and Wengen Liang, chairman of the port of Sany Heavy Industry.

The state government proposed to set up two dry ports in the state to offset the lack of seashore in the state. The dry ports will help the state spur the economy, the sources said.

A high-powered business delegation from China led by Sany group met chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao and other officials on  at Taj Falaknuma Palace here on Friday to discuss cooperation on Telangana’s development.

The Chinese delegation visited Hyderabad at the invitation of Rao. Rao, during his recent visit to China, invited their industrialists to invest in Telangana.

Special chief secretary (finance) K Pradeep Chandra said that within a month of the chief minister’s visit to China, the delegation has come here indicating the keen interest of Chinese companies in investing in Telangana.

The delegation included Sany group chairman Liang Wengen, president Tang Xiuguo and vice-president Duan Dawei, Sany India director and CEO Deepak Garg, CCTEG Shenyang Engineering Co vice-president   Zhang Keshu, China Minsheng Investment Corporation vice-president Chen Guogang, China Coal Mine Construction Group Corporation chairman Xhao Shibing, Power Construction Corporation of China vice-president Zeng Xingliang and CHINT group chairman Nan.

The 45-member delegation also incuded Golden Concord Holding Ltd vice-chairman t Shu Hua and vice-president Tzou Sean, Lianyungang Port Holding group companies  vice-president Li Chunhong; State Power Investment Corporation vice-president Ma Lu and Tebian Electric Apparatus Stock Company’s CEO.

Xue Jian from the Chinese embassy, and Siddhartha Anand and Priya Rawat from Invest India were also present at the meeting.
