HYDERABAD:A man who tried to abandon his 11-day-old female infant near a lake in Uppal police limits was caught and thrashed by passers-by before handing him over to the police on Sunday.
The baby was born with some ailments and doctors told him that the girl was born differently-abled and no treatment was available to cure the illness. This made him decide to abandon and went from Saroornagar to the lake in Uppal police limits.
According to the police, the wife of one Jagadeeshwar, a resident of Saroornagar, has given birth to a girl recently but the child had deformities. A distraught Jagadeeshwar went to Nallacheruvu in Uppal police limits with an intention to abandon her but his attempt was foiled by locals.
Police rescued girl and took her to a girls rehabilitation centre for proper feeding.
