RPF Nabs 2 Thieves, CPDS Seizes Ganja

HYDERABAD:Personnel of the Railway Protection Force (RPF) of Secunderabad and Vijayawada divisions of South Central Railway have cracked two cases of crime very recently.

Two notorious thieves robbed passengers in an unreserved coach of 16317 Kanyakumari-Mata Vaishno Devi Katra Himsagar Express between Manikgarh and Balharshah stations around midnight on October 24. The thieves pulled the alarm chain and got off to escape. The RPF train escort personnel of Warangal, who were on the train, chased and caught the thieves, and recovered the stolen property which included  a bag and seven mobile phones. The duo were handed over to the Government Railway Police (GRP), Balharshah for further action. 

In the other case, Crime Prevention and Detection (CPDS) team constables P Krishna, PAS Narayana and K Satish of Vijayawada division detained two passengers, one of them a woman, at Vijayawada station and found them carrying 24 kg of ganja worth Rs 60,000. The duo, hailing from Madurai district of Tamil Nadu, disclosed during interrogation that they had bought the contraband at Paderu in Visakhapatnam district and were proceeding to Tamil Nadu.
