Congress to Name Warangal LS Candidate Tomorrow

WARANGAL: TPCC president N Uttam Kumar Reddy has said that the party would announce its candidate for the Warangal Lok Sabha byelection on October 28.

Uttam Kumar Reddy will leave to Delhi on Tuesday to discuss about the selection of the candidate with the party high command. After confabulations with the high command, he will announce the party candidate, sources said.

Addressing a press conference after holding the meeting here on Monday, he exuded confidence that their party candidate would win the byelection. He said the voters in Warangal Lok Sabha constituency would teach a fitting lesson to both the TRS and BJP for their anti-people policies.

Alleging that the TRS government is resorting to killing of innocent people in the name of encounters, he said that the killing of Maoists Shruthi and Vidyasagar is inhuman. He also alleged that the TRS government has utterly failed in fulfilling poll promises.

The meeting was held to elicit opinion from senior leaders, constituency incharges,  mandal and division level leaders, frontal organisations leaders.   

Meanwhile, the followers of DCCB chairman Janga Raghava Reddy and former MLA Dugyala Srinivasa Rao clashed at the meeting in which a party worker Sadanandam, who is said to the follower of Srinivasa Rao, suffered a bleeding injury on his head.

AICC SC Cell chairman Koppula Raju, party working president Mallu Bhatti Vikramarka, former PCC chief  Ponnala Lakshmaiah, senior leaders Gandra Venkata Ramana Reddy, Porike Balram Naik, Madhu Yashki Goud, and others were present.

Warangal Bypoll: TD Leaders to Meet Naidu

Hyderabad: Telangana TDP leaders would be leaving to Vijayawada to meet their party chief N Chandrababu Naidu in the wake of reported differences over contesting the Warangal Lok Sabha byelection. A section of TDP leaders reportedly wanted to contest the Warangal byelection but some others wants to leave the seat to BJP. This issue cropped up at a recent meeting of party seniors and it was said the party’s newly appointed Telangana working president A Revanth Reddy and party floor leader E Dayakar Rao entered into an argument over the issue. To quell the differences, the party leaders wanted to discuss the issue with their leader. TTDP president L Ramana and others will leave for Vijayawada on Tuesday.
