VIJAYAWADA: State-level qualifying trials for the 26th National Tenpin Bowling Championship-2015 were held for the first time in SVM Bowling and Gaming here Tuesday. As many as 24 players participated in the event and the winners will participate in the national meet to be held in Bangalore from November 30 to December 15. A total of 20 states will be competing in both men and women’s categories.
The championship carries a prize money of Rs 7.5 lakh. The Tenpin Bowling Federation will conduct two qualifying trials to select four bowlers from Andhra Pradesh. The second and final trials will be organised from November 16 to 17 in Guntur. Top 16 bowlers of each trails will be awarded points based on their final rankings and the top four, based on total points secured in both trails, will be selected to represent the state in nationals.
