Dayakar is TRS Face for Warangal

HYDERABAD: Ending days of suspense over the party candidate for Warangal Lok Sabha byelections, TRS announced the candidature of Pasunuri Dayakar Rao here on Friday.

Chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao held a meeting with TRS leaders from Warangal and cleared the candidature of Dayakar.

A graduate in fine arts from JNTU, Dayakar has been very loyal to the party. He worked as TRS Wardhannapet Assembly segment in-charge and was active in the youth wing of the TRS.

The main reason for dropping G Ravi Kumar is the caste equation. According to sources, TRS felt that the candidature of Ravi Kumar would land the party in trouble and preferred to field Dayakar.  Earlier in the day, MRPS founder Manda Krishna Madiga demanded that the TRS should field a Madiga for Warangal LS seat.

Opposition Congress, TDP and the BJP are yet to declare their candidates. Meanwhile an NRI called on BJP state president G Kishan Reddy on Friday and sought Warangal ticket.
