HYDERABAD: Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao has asked officials to resolve land-related disputes on priority.
Cases are pending in various courts on lands worth thousands of crores of rupees and it is taking years to resolve those cases. As the government lands are in litigation, the government cannot utilise them for public utilisation, Rao has said.
Chairing a review with revenue officials at his camp office here on Thursday, he said that due to the apathy of previous government several government lands are in legal disputes.
“Since the formation of Telangana state, the government has been striving to protect government lands. It has protected ENT Hospital lands from encroachments and resumed Botanical Garden from private persons,” he recalled.
Officials should sincerely resolve other land disputes in a similar manner, he said and directed the top officials to give a free hand to district collectors to engage competent advocates to win the land dispute cases.
