No light and sound show at Elgandal Fort on June 2

KARIMNAGAR: The state government’s grandiose plans for a light and sound system at Elgandal fort on June 2 to celebrate the State Formation Day seems unlikely to materialise.

The postponement, allegedly due to delay in taking up works, has left locals disappointed.

“Learning that light and sound system will start on June 2, I planned to visit the fort along with my friends. Today, when I visited the fort, there is no hint of works being expedited, and even officials told us the same,” lamented Shiva Sahit, a student.  Just a few days back, a delegation of state government officials visited Karimnagar and announced that the light and sound system would be inaugurated at Elgandal Fort. When contacted, district tourism officer R Venkateshwar Rao acknowledged to Express that the works on the music system are getting delayed.

The water facility too has not been addressed and the borewell that was dug also failed. On Monday, officials dug another borewell near the fort but the connection was not given.

Great expectations fall short Rs 4.63 crore
