Kept away by vaastu, KCR to visit Secretariat today after three months

HYDERABAD: Work from home. This seems to be the new ‘mantra’ for Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhar Rao.

The first Chief minister of Telangana state, which turned two on Thursday, will be visiting the Secretariat, the seat of state administration, on Friday after a gap of almost three months!

The last time he went to the Secretariat was on March 6 when there was a cabinet meeting and on Friday again, he will be in his office for the same purpose - a Cabinet meeting.

Top sources disclosed to Express that KCR does not visit Secretariat often - a working style totally different from his predecessors in united Andhra Pradesh.  “But then, the work does not suffer. CM garu is working from his camp office or farmhouse in Erravalli. There is no specific reason why he does not visit Secretariat on a daily basis. He works from home and that has been his style from day one,” said a bureaucrat.

Official sources revealed that all key files pertaining to different departments, which require his personal attention, are either sent to the camp office or the farmhouse, wherever he is available. Though he does not visit Secretariat regularly, he, once in a while goes to MCRHRD, where he clears the files.

Though officials are tight-lipped over KCR’s style of work, sources hinted that ‘vaastu’ could be one of the reasons why he chooses to stay away from the Secretariat.  “That he is a strong believer in vaastu is well known and that could be one of the reasons for his keeping away from the secretariat,” another senior official reasoned.

In fact, this is not the first time that KCR has been away from his office for a long period. However, this is the first time that he chose to stay away for nearly three months.

‘’He may not be present in the Secretariat but he has a firm grip over the administration. His core team is in place and there is nothing that misses his attention,” a senior bureaucrat said.
