Sarpanches told to monitor contamination

KHAMMAM: Sarpanches have been told to take up sanitation work in villages to avoid spread of contaminated diseases as monsoon is fast approaching.

An awareness meeting on contaminated diseases was organised for sarpanches on Wednesday at a club in Kothagudem.

Bhadrachalam Integrated Tribal Development Agency (ITDA) project officer, Rajiv Gandhi Hanumanthu said sarpanches should ensure that water does not stagnate for a long time outside houses and village surroundings

He directed sarpanches to motivate public to prevent the spread of contaminated diseases by taking up precautionary measures.
