HYDERABAD: Industries minister KT Rama Rao, on his third day of US tour on Thursday, met the representatives of seed manufacturing company DuPont and sought their cooperation to make Telangana state a ‘Seed Bowl of India.’
Earlier, Rama Rao called on Iowa state Governor Terry Edward Branstad and discussed about the agricultural practices in Iowa. Terry Branstad told Rama Rao that they were not using chemical fertilisers and went in for intensive mechanisation in agriculture. Rama Rao wanted DuPont company representatives to assist Telangana also.
The minister wanted them to send a team to Telangana state soon to introduce latest practices in agriculture. DuPont has agreed to train farmers in Telanagan, according to an official release on Thursday.
