Amit Shah to address Warangal meet today

HYDERABAD: BJP president Amit Shah will address a public meeting at Hanamkonda in Warangal districton on Saturday as part of the BJP’s ongoing Tiranga Yatra and also marking the Hyderabad Liberation Day.

As the BJP top brass is trying to strenghten the party’s base in Telangana,  Shah is likely to target the ruling TRS and also criticise it for not celebrating the Liberation Day officially.

Amit Shah will pay homage to TS martyrs who laid their lives for the liberation of Hyderabad state from the clutches of Nizam, according to a press release by the state BJP office.

Amit Shah will address the public meeting at 5.30 pm at Jawaharlal Nehru Stadium in Hanamkonda. Before the public meeting a variety of cultural programmes depicting the culture and traditions of Telangana will be held.

Recently, PM Modi visited the state and addressed BJP workers in Hyderabad. The top leaders of BJP and Union ministers are frequently visiting Telangana state, as they are desperately trying to improve their cadre base in the newly-formed Telangana state.

Though the Tiranga Yatra of the BJP, which commenced on August 9, ended on August 22 elsewhere in the country, the Yatra  continued till September 17 in Telangana to mark the Hyderabad Liberation Day.

“The Tiranga Yatra was extended up to September 17 as per the suggestion by Narendra Modi,” a party leader said.
