Rights activist Tarakam cremated

HYDERABAD: Rights activist and senior advocate Bojja Tarakam (77), who breathed his last on Friday night, was consigned to flames on Saturday. The funeral of the advocate was held at Mahaprasthanam graveyard in Jubilee Hills amid scores of politicos and rights activists.

Tarakam, who has been ailing for the past few days died on Friday night. His body was kept at Sundarayya Vignana Kendram here for people to pay tributes. Among those who paid tributes include TJAC chairman Prof M Kodandaram, Union minister Bandaru Dattatreya, BJP leader G Kishan Reddy, deputy chief minister K Srihari, writer Varavara Rao, several IAS and IPS officers, writers, poets and others.

CM KCR in a message expressed sympathies to Hyderabad district collector Rahul Bojja, son of Bojja Tarakam.
