HYDERABAD: TRS MP and Telangana Jagruthi president K Kavitha, who has been making efforts to popularise Bathukamma will tour ten countries during Dasara to make people aware of the floral festival.
“This time I will be visiting ten countries during Dasara to celebrate and popularise Bathukamma among non-resident Telangana people,” she said
on Sunday. Addressing Telangana Jagruthi members at Telangana Bhavan on Sunday after releasing a poster on the festivities, Kavitha said, “Telangana Jagruthi will organise 9-day-long Bathukamma programmes at 1,100 places across Telangana.”
The MP remarked that there was no place for recreation and sports in schools. “With the managements of all corporate schools focusing on pass percentage, there is little room for recreation. Therefore, playing Bathukamma is required to teach communication skills to them,” she said.
