Officials fail to prepare DPRs for new NHs

Though the state government fought with the Centre and got new National highways (NHs), the construction of the same has not started due slackness of the officials.

HYDERABAD: Though the state government fought with the Centre and got new National highways (NHs), the construction of the same has not started due slackness of the officials.
Even six months after the sanction of new NHs, the officials are unable to prepare even detailed project reports (DPRs).

At a review on Friday, Roads and Buildings minister Tummala Nageswara Rao expressed serious displeasure over the lethargic attitude of the officials for not even preparing the DPRs in the last six months. The state had transferred five state roads for development under NHs.
“First prepare a detailed plan for acquiring lands for the construction of these roads within 15 days,” the minister directed the officials.
