HYDERABAD: Beginning this Independence Day, the people of Jammikunta town in the district would be singing the national anthem everyday. In a novel initiative to instil patriotism among people, Jammikunta police have decided to ask people to sing the national anthem everyday.

The police have identified about 16 centres including the local police station, where people would assemble at 8 am daily and sing the national anthem. At 7.57 am, an announcement would be made through loud speakers requesting people to assemble at the identified centres and join in singing the national anthem.

The police officer further said ever since a Police Commissionerate was set up, local police have been hoisting the national flag at Jammikunta police station.“Likewise, we want to make citizens of Jammikunta to sing the national anthem everyday from Aug 15. This novel concept will be used as a tool to prevent crime,” he said.
