Opposition criticises hefty pay hike for TSPSC chief, members

State government’s decision to give a hefty pay hike to the chairman and members of Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) has been widely criticised by the leader of the opposition parties

HYDERABAD: State government’s decision to give a hefty pay hike to the chairman and members of Telangana State Public Service Commission (TSPSC) has been widely criticised by the leader of the opposition parties.

Taking strong objection to the government’s decision, TPCC spokesperson Dasoju Sravan on Sunday said, “This government seems to be more interested in giving a quantum jump in the salaries of TSPSC chairman and members, than keeping its promise of providing lakhs of jobs to unemployed youth in the state.”

TDP TS unit working president A Revanth Reddy, while addressing mediapersons separately, too found fault with the state government’s decision. Notably, two days ago the State government increased the salary of TSPSC chairman from `80,000 per month to `2.25 lakh.

Likewise, salary of each member of the commission was also hiked from the existing `79,000 per month to `2.24 lakh in accordance with the Seventh Central Pay Commission’s recommendations.
